Default Tested my stator.. advice?

So i just got done going through and testing my batt draw an my stator. I had contanuity threw my two holes for my stator plug... at idle testing volts i should be around 25v. then for every 1000rpm it should go up about 20v or so right?? well i was hoping it was my voltage reg. but from idle on my stator i had 5v. then as i would rev up slowly it was going up only 1-2 volts.... ending around 7-8 volts at rev... I think i know anyway but this sounds like i need a new stator.. Any one???

More than likely the stator is fried. That voltage is really low. Check the 2 wires for continuity to ground. Open up the primary, give it a smell. My buddies went out on a trip last week and you could really smell it.

When you are in there, check the rotor (magnets and wearing) and note tightness of compensator nut.

I recommend you replace the rotor & stator while you are in there.
