Default 06 Deuce problem

Ok here one for the experts. When I turn on the ignition and flip the button to run, the bike starts without hitting the starter button. Then the bike wants to grind. Could there be a short somewhere? A fuse ? I just washed it today and figured it was water in one of the switches so I used the air compressor to dry everything, let it set for a few hours and still the same problem. Any help is much appreciated !!

Sounds like your start button is permanently on "start", which is strange because, normally when they fail, they don't work at all. You probably have enough moisture in the switch that it is continuously making contact. I would either remove the switch and clean/dry thoroughly, or allow it to sit in a warm/dry environment for a couple of days and try it again. Hopefully your switch contacts have not fused closed. If they have, it may require replacement of the starter switch.

Glad I could help! In the future, when washing your bike, try to avoid a direct spray of water on the switch housing's. I lightly wet them, but never spray directly on/in them.
