Power commander is not tied to one machine so you can borrow someone else's cable and be fine. You can also download the software from www.powercommander.com. If I am not mistaken (if often happens) I think a standard motorola phone cable will interface with it.
You may be able to adjust your 0 TP column by adding a few units (like 5 at a time) in the cells where the issue is and see if the popping goes away.

A six foot cable would be best.

Yeah, the cable can be bought anywhere, just a standard USB cable. You might even have one laying around. Software can be downloaded. When you get your bike hooked up to it, turn on ignition and run switch set in run, open software and click on the "Get MAP" button, the MAP will show on your computer, make your adjustments (in the zero percent comlumn) for both cylinder 1 and 2 then click send MAP, unplug and test ride. Doesn't get much simpler. Good luck

Your bike has to be running or use the 9 volt adapter to power the PC 3.
From the manual:
Note: The PCIII USB must be powered up to in order for it to receive a map. This
can be done using the supplied 9 volt “power up” adapter or with your vehicle
running.
Note: In order for map changes from the software to take effect on the PCIII USB
connected to your vehicle, you must choose Send Map.

To send changes click send table or send map.
Send table only sends the table that you are working with.
Send map sends all tables. Fuel and timing.
Before you change anything click get map then save that map. Give it a name you will be able to remember.
After you make changes and send them save that map with a new name.
You can wright in the notes section information that will describe the map and changes.
