Default no spark need help

wife and i went on a ride today and after about a hour her 02 wideglide just shut off, so i turned around and went back, she said the bike backfired about three times and died. i jump on the bike and it fires back up, get down the road about 1/2 mile and it dies again. i checked for spark and it had none. soo i start looking for the obvious nothing!! to make a long story short it started about 4 times run for about two minutes and would just die. after the last time it wouldnt do anything. trailered it home and after sitting for about 3 hours it now fires back up and runs great, my question is where to start looking coil, ignition module ?? any help will be appreciated

There is a heat sensitive circuit breaker in this circuit I believe.

I think HD has a bullitin out about it. Check this out.
There solution is to put a bigger breaker in.

On a Softail, its in front of the rear tire. Should be somewhere around there. $7.00 to replace. Does it crank over but no spark? If it does, and you have a tach, watch to see if the tach needle jumps. If it doesn't, then it's probably the crank position sensor.
While you are replacing the circuit breaker, locate the Bank Angle Sensor and take a magnet to it. Mine was stuck and making the bike shut down randomly. You should hear the metal ball rolling around when you move the magnet. It took me over a month to figure that one out.
