Is there a test procedure for the voltage regulator?

I believe you check the battery, and stator, and if they're fine, and she isn't charging or getting proper volatge it's assumed the regulator is bad.

 

My bad,should have said "Bench Test"

 

Start the bike Put a DC volt meter on the bat Rev the engine should read say 13.5 VDC or more If you're still at say 12 volts Disconnect the reg plug off the stator plug (left side off the engine to the left of the front cylinder Now set the volt meter to AC volts put the two prongs off the volt meter into the stator holes Start the bike You should read 20 VAC per 1000 RPM to a max at 2000 rpm say 40 VAC + This will tell you if the system is functioning properly
