Default Fuel Pak .... Yea I know ....

I have a 2005 FLSTFSE with a 103.

I bought V&H big shot staggered (17909). I purchased the V&H fuel Pack.

I called and EMAILED V&H about the settings with no response. I set it to FP-0200 settings because it is the closest match I could find (2006 SE).

I do not believe it is set right. Stalls and sputters a lot.

Can anyone point me to link to help understand my problem. The V&H site just tells me to contact V&H....

Thanks !! Ride Safe !!

Mike

Here is what you need to do. Send the fuelpak back to V&H for a refund and buy a SERT (or PCIII) to correct your problems. [sm=goodidea.gif]

I always have gotten through and spoke to a tech whenever I had a question. Anyhow, first open her back up and go to mode 20. It should show "11" verifying the version you have. Then go to mode 21. While on mode 21 gently roll on the throttle (engine off of course). The numbers should climb 1, 2, 3, all the way up to 99. If they don't climb consecutively and just jump from 0-99 you did not completed the throttle mode properly and need to redo it. If you get through to V&H on the phone they should be able to give you some different values to plug in for some of the modes. Also did you buy a high perf air cleaner as well? The website suggests that you have one. Also when I just went to their site and typed in the part number you supplied and chose 2005 as the year of bike with choosing all models and standard baffles it came up with two different maps...FP-0027 for a softail with an 88" and FP-0180 for a 15th ann. softail witha 95"

Hey Dawg Thanks!!

Well I have a SE 103 which has every SE option including the air filter. Came that way...

I'll call again. The only luck I have is "BAD" so they were probably very busy or something.

Hi hdstfse

I have the V&H Big Shot Staggered with quiet baffle and SE Air Filter Stage I. Installed the FuelPak and load FP-0002 which was exactly my setup. The bike really got better but some pop decel happened. I emailed V&H and received response in 30 min. They told me to change mode 1 from 10 to 5, mode 2 from 6 to 3 and mode 5 from 14 to 7 and the bike improved a lot but some gags began to happen in the first gear, then emailed again and they again told me to return mode 2 from 3 to 6. Now the bike is 100%

Someone in this forum or another told that V&H would release a manual explaining what each mode means so anyone could make their own setup but this is still a promise.

I have always talked to someone there as well. I know for a fact that the guy you need on tuning is Adam Rogers. His email address is
arogers@vanceandhines.com and the number is 1-800-592-2529 with his extension being 141 ....

Hope that helps.
