I have a 02 road king. other day while driving in heat i got stuck at alot of lights and i noticed bike would run rought till i got going and could clear it up. I noticed it threw a code but light still stays on for a few seconds when starting then goes off. Bike seems to ride fine in colder weather but seems not in high heat it runs rought in the alot of stop and go driving till i get it cleared out ?? any ideas what problem may be

 

Heat management maybe? Shuts down to one cylinder when it's really hot. Then goes back to both when throttle is turned. I don't know the particulars but there are plenty of threads on it. You might try the search. Good luck..

 

i thought of that but i dont think a 2002 goes down to the one cylinder. It only happens when moter gets real hot and once i get going it buggs for a minute then seem to clear it self out once thru 2nd gear.
