Drain out a quart mason jar of it and stir it look for some small bubbles of water or debris at the tornado of the spinning fuel. If you don't see it right off. Cover it and let it set for 24 hours go back check again. See what you find.
Not that I don't believe you, I don't trust the gas were expected to run in our engines.

Nope not yet. Dropped it back off today and they are now thinking pin hole in the line that goes from the fuel pump to the quick disconnect or an issue with the disconnect and are finally going to do some fuel psi checks but this is all just talk today and said it may be thur before they even get to look at it.

That was what I was thinking, never had that problem on a bike, but had a small pinhole in the gas line to the boat and it did the same thing. Was sucking air in, but if it went dead it would fire right back up. Was a B***** to find, but replaced the fuel line and didn't have anymore trouble.

My guess is that it is something in the tank lift mod. Most likely fuel line aeration. I had the 8 degree fuel injector issue and the bike would surge like that. Have you tried cleaning the injectors?
I would also check the crank sensor, engine temp sensor and bank angle sensor. During the tank lift did you move any wiring under the tank?

Don't get all freaked out as this is most likely a really simple issue. Definitley an "Oh S**t" issue.
