Default Will Changing to a 30 T Pulley require a Remap

Hello all,

A friend and I are both considering dropping to a 30 T pulley. I have a Thunderax with Autotune and he has another system without Autotune.

Anyone know if a change in drivetrain will affect his tune in such a way that it will require him to make another visit to the dyno?

Thanks

I wouldn't think so as all you are doing is running the motor at a higher rpm at the same speed. Final gearing won't affect the fuel mixture in the engine

I would tend to agree with your statement "higher RPM at the same speed", however isn't there a different workload on the engine at that same RPM?

This presents another question; will dropping the pulley increase peak torque or just move the curve to the lower RPM ranges?

The torque curve will not be moved or affected. You will just get to it quicker. As far as workload on the engine, that changes everytime you upshift or downshift.
