Default 50mm SE Throttle Body

What realistic performance gain by installing the SE 50mm throttle body assembly. I have an 07 FLTR stage2 103" ,se255 cams, Bassani 2 to 1 , stage 1 a/c, SERT. Currently dynos at 86.9HP , 99.6 TQ.

Haven't done any head work. happy with the performance, but always looking more more bang for the buck. Currently have 47K trouble free miles. I heard the SE 50mm comes complete with new electronics & bigger injectors as part of the package. with a good tune would there be any significant gains for the $ ?

You may loose power on the bottom end and it will show up on ANY dyno run that you do. You will see a flat or dip in the early part of the torque line and like OCT1949 stated, it will help in the upper RPM's.
If you raise the compression ratio, you will recover some of the flat power in the lower RPM's. You can't raise it too much because the 255 closes early on the intake stroke and your cylinder pressure is already elavated because of that.

I would think that you would need a remap for a larger TB, for each degree of throttle opening your airflow would be different. The TPS sensor's signal to the ECM for fuel control would now be out of calibration with a larger TB.

With that engine and that cam you will probably not see anything.

What you will see is a real education all about fuel injection and tuning.
There are some MAPs for this combination with the SERT.
I have found the most noticeable things with this kind of Mod is low rpm rideability. Gotta work with that some with the SERT.

Helps a whole lot if you do your own Tuning. Pocket book anyway.
