Hello all,

I have a '99 XL883C and I have had the brake light turn signal conversion kit for several years. Recently, the following has started happening: when I let off the brakes, the tailights (running lights) go off, until I rev the engine a little and they came back on and stay on as normal. Apply brakes again and brake lights come on, then let off brakes and all tailights go off until reving engine again.

I'm going to simply unplug the brake light turn signal conversion kit this afternoon and hook everything back up the factory way to see if it is the kit. Any other ideas?

Sounds like the switch inside the brake lever is not working correctly and the vibration from the engine breaks things loose momentarily. Maybe the brake lever assembly needs to be cleaned.
