I rode all day the day before, following morning went to start the 2002 Fatboy and it start's for 2 seconds and shuts off...with a red engine light on. I scrolled through the DTC's and PPU 82883 is displayed.

Anyone know what this means? and how to fix the issue?

Would really appreciate the help, the only ride I have right now.

Did you ever find out what the PPU 82833 meant. I am having the same trouble.

PPU 82833 is NOT a code.
It is the Speedo's Pulse per Unit.

After all DTCs are displayed it always displays the PPU.
If nothing else is coming up, then there are no DTCs stored.

 

Then why will the check engine light not go off?

 

A 2002 will not display the error codes thru the speedo. You have to make a jumper wire and read the engine flashes. If the light stays on it's an active code.

 

I can ride for about 20 min and mine shuts off with a check engine light on and dont know how too do the jump wire thing I read about...
