Experiences using SEST Pro Smart Tune Feature

The only complaint I've heard from the more hands on guys is that its hard to tell what it actually is doing, i.e. it will show one thing but do something else, not that it makes any difference on the street except for a trust issue .... oh at one time SEST had a tendency to crash but I think those bugs are mostly worked out. There is not much info from the factory about the details of how it works. There are more effective tuning tools for less money, I think, althoiug pressing a button and taking a tuning ride is more convenient.

I put tape on my throttle grip and marked it into quarters from closed to wfo. Once I checked the box for smart tune and started recording, I tried to ride at various rpms, different throttle settings, different gears, various loads (hard accel, cruising highway, etc.).
Seems to have smoothed things out pretty good. No popping at all. I did notice that when I applied the smart tune to the VE map that the numbers changed. Setting the resolution lower fixed that as it was rounding the numbers before.
I'ved used the SEST Pro for a while, running on XP, Vista, and now Win7. Never had any crashes.
