Default Does a new 06 ignition module need dealer reprogramming

I believe I have an ignition conrol module problem. Only the rear cylinder is firing on my 06 1200 Custom Sporty. I tested the Ignition control module outputs to the ignition coil with a test light to ground. The front cylinder coil wire is giving off a pulsating light (which i believe means good) and the rear is giving off a steady on light (probably not good). The dealer tells me that if i replaced the module the bike would have to come in to the shop for reprogramming and password relearning. Is it possible for me to do that myself and does anyone else believe like me that it is most likely my ignition control module that is bad? Thank you dor your help. BTW whatever the end results are I will keep you posted.

I am not familar with sporty's. But carb'd or EFI the stock module has default programming. Unless you have an altered model, I am not sure that 'additional' programming you need.
