Oil pressure gauge pegged

Oil pressure gauge pegged
I have an 88 Electra-Glide Classic, 1340cc. My needle is pegged all the way over as soon as I hit the column switch(and stays there while running). Is the problem in the gauge or the O.P. switch? How can I test with a meter? Oil pressure checks out fine. Any tips would be appreciated.

I don't have the specs but disconnect the sending unit and see if the gauge is still pegged.
If it is,disconnect the sending unit leads from the gauge but leave power connected.
If the gauge drops to zero, check for grounded wires(shorted) with both ends disconnected(sending unit and gauge).
If the gauge stays pegged with the sending unit wires disconnected, replace the gauge.
If the gauge drops to zero when you disconnect the sending unit(with the wires connected to the gauge),replace the sending unit.
