accessory circuit fails when ignition switch is on
Hey folks:
I'm riding a 1991 Softail Custom. On a recent trip, my accessory circuit seemed to fail. I figured I just blew that circuit. However, the circuit works fine when the switch is in the Accessory position, so the circuit is still OK. I'm thinking there is a short in the switch itself, but want to see if anyone else has experienced anything like this.
Thanks!

RE: accessory circuit fails when ignition switch is on
Your bike probably has a 'post and contact' ignition switch that's original. The ignition and lights side of the switch failed on mine on my way home once. Turns out the wire tabs had broken off due to corrosion and the centre post was then arcing as well. Not a complicated fix if that is what's wrong. There are electronic versions of that switch assembly availabel. I've seen it on an other thread here a week or two ago.
