SERT vs HD Download / Dyno?
6/25
Guys, something's been bugging me. I have the SERT and understand how it is tweaked to tune the bike. How do the dealer's dyno tune without a SERT? i.e. I assume they can take the "HD Download" and tweak it - or do they need a PCIII or something similar? Maybe I'm confused.
Just wondering why the SERT is "for RACE Tuning" when us poor guys just want to add pipes and A/C and have the bike run good. Maybe the MoCo needs a non-RACE version of the SERT!
My two cents.

The "HD download" is just a canned map that the dealer loads into your ECM. They don't "tune" it at all. There is no reason to use a dyno when doing this, other than to put money in the dealer's pocket and get you a slip of paper that shows a HP and torque reading. The only way a bike can be dyno tuned is with a sert or PCIII.
