Default Updated... Taillight woes! Updated...

I will try to explain this as best as possible.

Last weekend I lowered the bike using Burly non adjustable bolts. I was out for a ride and a guy on a RK pulls up and says my taillight is out. The brake light and turn signals work just fine, it is just the tail light that is burnt out. Here is what I've done so far to trouble shoot:

-New Bulb, original looked fine, but replaced just to try
-Wiggled connectors and wires w/ignition on trying to find a broken wire/loose connection
-Taken seat off to make sure rear harness is fully plugged in

I have no luck...What should I do now?

The bike is an '09 Cross Bones.

Trace the wires from the housing to the plug.

What am I looking for? An actual break? I don't think that is the case since the brake light works.

There are separate wires for brake and running. I would think you are looking for a broken wire.

Should I just go buy a fluke and run a continuity test on the wires?

Like a fluke 115?

Some type of meter that you can check continuity and or voltage.

Update:

I've traced it down some. It appears to have power to the connector under the seat but no power back to the taillight when the connector is reconnected. I looked at that harness under the fender and it doesn't appear to be cut/pinched but I can't hook up and do a continuity check because the connectors fit too tightly around the wire and I can't fit the tips from my multi-meter in there.

Update Part Duex:

Well, I used some locking wire to push down into the connectors to check for continuity and found it all the way back to the rear circuit card. I undid the screw on the card and pulled it off.......FRIED! I mean the plastic is melted! WTF? What could have caused this? Will it be covered under warranty because I was the one that took it apart?
