Hi every one, I hooked up my master tune and pressed "Get ECM Info" I got the info and status showed unlocked. I went to save ECM Calibration, it started then asked for save file name. It got to 40% and said installing bootloader then gave me Error 280 and said quiting. Any ideas. Thanks, adown

EDIT: Never mind. I used my macbook running XP PRO (through Parallels)and was getting the error. I took my HP laptop out and had no problems. Funny, I've never had any problems running windows programs before. Is there any way to check my download other than the "Download OK" after it was done? Thanks again, adown

Are you using a USB serial adaptor? If so, what make? Also, what model and year is the bike?

This is almost always due to a non-compatible USB serial adapter. There is some additional info on this in thread https://www.hdforums.com/forum/elect...e-tuner-4.html see post 31

Suggest using the TTS USB serial adapter, as it works well with all windows OS. There may be others as well, someone may chime in with what works for them.

OK, now I see you were running a XP on a Mac under parallels. The problem may be related to how your particular USB adaptor works in that environment.

Thanks Gary, I was able to see my ECM info so the USB and program are working right. It's got something to do with parallels not wanting to run the bootloader that uploads the ECM file. My Mac is just a lot smaller and easier. I guess I'll have to lug around the big old HP. Thanks again

 

This issue is likely that the Parallels USB emulation is not supporting the virtual com port handshake lines properly. This seems to be an afterthought with many USB driver developers. Gary

 

I run windoze XP on boot camp on my macbook pro and have had no problem. Windoze on boot camp does drain the battery faster, however.

 

i'm having the same issue, I'm running win 7 and an express card serial not an usb, but i keep getting that error i'm not on a virtual environment, straight windows any suggestions?
