Default Stage 1 ?

I was looking through the Screamin' Eagle race catalog today. I came upon the page talking about the different downloads available. All of them were called Stage II. I saw no downloads called Stage I. I checked for 2006 and 2005 Dynas. All the ones I saw didn't mention just SE II slipons and SE AC, but contained additional mods like cams, etc. Where's the Stage I stuff?

Default RE: Stage 1 ?

Not all of HD Stage 1 downloads are the same -- For instance, if you have the Screamin Eagle performance slip ons, get that download and then switch to the touring mufflers, your bike will run richer. I agree in general with the unfavorable postings about the Stage 1's. Some people prefer the PCIII's, the SERT, or the Vance and Hines tuner -- all will do a good job as long as you get the right download for your set up -- if they don't have it, you have to do some experimenting. On my last bike, I had the S&S OSP's -- no one had a down load for them, so I had to play a guessing game -- tried 3 or 4 different downloads and none of them seemed to be right. Went to a certified Dyno shop, and didn't like the way it ran because the guy was used to tuning the motors for performance, which meant about a 13:1 air/fuel mixture, whci is way too rich for touring. I'm starting to come to the conclusion that the best thing you can do is leave it box stock -- either that or do what I did with my '99 EFI Road King -- switch it to a carb set up!!
