Does any one know the procedure for installing a new, stock, ECM???

Mine is bad. I ve confirmed it bad, and have a brand new one coming. I am told the dealer has to flash it with the motorcycle. Is that true?

Or can they flash it for the mode/year bike, with out the bike?

That is it? I was told the bike had to be there for it? Must be to verify VIN?
