the oil light stayed on this morning oil lev ok where do i start to find prob

 

The oil light is a pressure light, not an oil level light. If you are lucky, the sending unit is going bad. If you are unlucky, your oil pump is taking a crap.

 

When training as an engineer I was told the only thing a warning light tells you is that the bulb is working! Is oil returning to the tank when the engine is running? If you are not confident of looking further, contact a local indy or dealer. Even a short trip could do serious harm.

 

problem was tensioner went out took out the oil pump going with hydraulic tensioners replacing pump and bearings and new cams
