Default Arcing spark when wet

I'm a new HD owner and have been caught in the rain twice now. On both occasions I noticed the bike misfiring and saw arcing between one of the plug wires and the chrome coil cover. Any ideas how to fix the problem? '98 FLSTS with a crane aftermarket coil and plug wires

You have bad wires or they are not seated properly. On both the coil and the sparkplug you should hear and feel the wire cap 'snap' into place.

If the wires are properly seated, you have bad wires. Replace them.

What he said, plus the boots might not be water tight on the wire or coil.

Thanks guys. I know the wires are seated properly so I guess I'll throw on a new pair, hope I don't get rained on any time soon, but know that it won't be long before I see if it fixed the problem.

i had the same problem on my old MG. Sparks everywhere when wet. Replacing plug wires fixed it.
