anyone have this problem 99 roadking carb i ride for 10 or 15 min the bike shuts off like you hit the kill switch all lights and accesaries still work fine bike wont start again until you let it cool down for 15 or 20 min I checked for spark geeting no spark when this happens I ride again does the same thing after5 or 8 min I changed 50 amp circut breaker under seat bypassed bank angle senser still no luck STEELER says might be crank poss senser or ECM any ideas out there thanks ride safe dan05

 

A couple of ideas, coil could be overheating or the vent in the gas cap plugged. If you are not getting spark I would go for the coil or crank position sensor. The sensor sends the signal to the coil.

 

my 97flht would crank but wouldn't start when it was hot, crank position sensor was bad

 

Your 1999 model has the check engine light....I would use this to your advantage.

If the check engine light is coming on....definately run for codes. This might help point you in the right direction.

I would grab the shop manual and start troubleshooting. Whatever you do, avoid just throwing parts at it.
