I just got a 75 ironhead 1000,the guy said it ran before he cooked the front piston.I did a top end rebuild and now I can't get any spark.It was converted to elec. ignition (Compu-Fire high comp. module).It appears I have the 12V I need at the coil and the module also seems to be good,but still no spark. I tried different coils and wires and still nothing. The wiring is pretty much a hack job and the "kill" switch is now the high/low beam. I plan on re-wiring, but would like to find the root of the problem.Did they bypass the stop swith wrong?? I have a couple of wiring diagrams,but they don't look like what I have on the bike.Any advise would be appriciated,Thanks.

 

Put a points system back in and go from there Does that compu fire system use the old advance weight system or is that history ?

 

I'm not sure about the compu fire, it has magnets that open and close the circuit. I'll see if I can dig up a set of points,and let you know what happens.Thanks.
