Default brake lights always on

I have a 2000 RK. Today a guy behind me told me my brake lights were always on. I have a manual but it doesn't tell me much. Under the seat there is what looks like a relay between two wire harnesses. When I unplug ether one the lights go off. Am I on the right track?

Can anyone help me? My turn signals work. But the brake lights stay on.

any chance you pinched the wires or damaged the rubber boot in your right handed signal housing? This usually occurs when you swap out brake levers and you don't follow the procedure in the manual where you put a piece of cardboard between the lever and the housing when you disassemble it.

Thank you ticktock, Thats what happened, I changed my hand grips and got the switch out of alignment. Was able to move the controls around and by trial and error got it fixed. Guess I should read directions. Feel like an idiot. I was checking out new bars at the time. And put new grips on.
