Had a frustrating day last weekend when I had a buddy helping (or more like me helping him) install a mini-tach on my bike. One part (#68928-02A), the tach mount and handlebar clamp was suppose to fit '00 and later Deuce and '05 and later Deluxe...wrong, it fits neither as the holes on the mount were spaced further apart (vertically) than those on my risers. The dealer checked the spacing on some showroom bikes (as if he was befuddled at something like this could happen) and concurred with me and has ordered the exact same part, in case it was machined wrong + an alternative part in case the next one doesn't work. Anyone heard of other HD applications not fitting properly? Is this common? [:'(]

I ordered a tach for my wide glide and the tach itself did not come with the nut whic is embeded in some plastic that is used to hold the cover on. I went a round with the dealer for a little while and they ended up pulling another one out and lo and behold there was the nut in the back so that you could attach the cover. Sometimes I think that quality control takes a back seat to just make a million of these thing to reach a quota. Let the dealer sort this kind of thing out. But it is a pain to go back for the right parts at the prices we are paying for this stuff.
