idle

If yes then I am failry certian this can be adjusted at home. Your system is close to mine so, you should be able to open the file that was uploaded to your bike and adjust the RPM then reflash your ECM. I will recommend you keep the RPM above 900 and idealy at 950 or higher for good oil presure.

Idle
I've an '06 EFI bike as well and also would like to lower the idle RPM. Unfortunately, I don't have the means (SERT or other EFM) to change it right now. If you've read the many discussions on this topic you'll hear two main objections to doing so:
Now I'm not an expert on these engines by any stretch of the imagination so I'm still looking for a definitive answer on the subject.
- Low oil pressure will starve the top end of oil. Reasonable argument but the '06 models were available as either carb or EFI. I do not believe that the MoCo had two different oil pumps they used depending on the intake setup. So I would think that you could set the idle as low as the carb spec and be OK.
- Not enough rpm to keep the voltage up for the electronics. This one I don't understand at all. You've got 0 rpm when you start and your battery supplies enough voltage to operate the electronics to get you started. So assume the worst case that the rpm is so low it's draining the battery. Well it's no worse than just turning the ignition on without starting, correct. Sure after maybe 10-20 minutes you would drain the battery enough that you couldn't start the scoot but who typically sits and idles that long.
Now I'm not an expert on these engines by any stretch of the imagination so I'm still looking for a definitive answer on the subject.

Ya, mines set to ~980 and I didn't touch what the MAP came with. Don't care to lower it unless I was to get some kind of gain from doing that, either in Heat managment or engine life. From what I gather doing this would most likely be the opposite of a gain.
