I'm just curious why you want to disable that function?
Thanks

The cut off time is too fast.
Mine is a 1998 883 Sportster, does someone have a idea which wire to remove or to set the timing longer.

Hold the turn signal button down. The timer starts when you release the button. That's assuming it turns off before you actually turn. They are set to operate for a distance based upon speed. 0-30 mph is 0.04 miles, 31-45 is 0.06, 46-60 is 0.14 and 61+ is 0.20. If you want it operate longer than that then you need to hold the switch down. If it's not lasting that long then you may have a problem you can fix.

You might be able to disconnect the speedometer input to it and keep it from cancelling. Mines a '94 with an 8-pin connector. Pin 3 is the speedometer input. Pin 1 is top left with the pin numbers increasing clockwise and the alignment tabs at the bottom. I would start by seeing if it cancels setting in your driveway not moving. If it does then you don't want to disconnect it because that will cause it to cancel in 5s-7s rather than 10s-12s for the 61+ mph.

thanks for the info, i do not understand harley concept why the cut off is so short. Holding the button and disconnect the speedometer may not seem the best way of all too. Holding the button is real a troublesome and I'm concern when will the petrol use out if the speedometer is disconnect. there is auto shut off device selling but i do not want to spend on that (harley does not input this to this stock bike)

does anyone ever discover another way?

If I had known anyone wanted to know how to do this,I would have asked the guy I followed for about 15 miles last weekend...his left turn signal was on all the while...he apparently noticed it when he started to turn right...:>)

it a common thing to forget to shut off the signal, will it be better the shock harley can have to setting for long or short timing for shut off.

It's distance based, not time. How far you have depends upon how fast you're going when you release the button. You have 5s-12s depending upon your speed if you don't brake at all. You have longer if you brake and if you stop you have all day. It's how long it takes you to go the distance. That distance is more than sufficient to come gradually to a complete stop. If you get run over it isn't because your turn signal cancelled too soon. The person behind you had plenty of time to see the turn signal and come to a complete stop.

hi guys.. i am new here! ahh thanks to this thread...i finally know how the auto cut signal light works!
initially someone told me it operates based on the tilt of the bike while turning.

and then i noticed my light does change on gear shift too, besides the above-mentioned distance-based cut off. hmmm...anyone has any confirmation on this? thanks!

Newer bike use a bank sensor. They are a bit more complicated.
