Are electric speedometers interchangeable between models, mine is not working and have verified it is not the sensor, I found some on ebay that were cheap but not sure if they would replace the current one. my bike is 2005 883xl sportster. Thanks

 

I went through 3 of them in 45K miles on my '97 WG. The ones on e-bay generally don't work. But you'de have to look at each one pretty closely. Who knows, you might find somebody selling a take off. If you buy one from the dealer, you can order it with whatever mileage on the odomoter that you need/want.

 

Thanks for the info but it did'nt really answer my question. Can a Speedometer from lets say a softail work on a sportster? Is it just plug and play or does each motor have to have its own speedometer. Thanks
