PC-V and Dobeck TFI together?
Hi EFi gurus.
I'm in Australia and I've just received my Power Commander V from FuelMoto (thanks Jamie) programmed to my bike:- FXDF Dyna Fat Bob fitted with V&H Big Radius 2-1, Screamin' Eagle Stage 1 Air Cleaner and stock ECU.
I've had a Dobeck TFI on my Fat Bob since new (8,000km) and when I've gone to fit the PCV, the wiring from the Dobeck TFI instalation is a nightmare. Nothing's color coded and a bit tricky.
My questions is what harm (or advantage) would there be in fitting the PCV and leaving the Dobeck TFI in place?
The connections to the ECU are not used with the TFI so the Power Commander V connections don't interfere with the TFI. The dobeck system doesn't use O2 eliminators but the PC-V does.
Look forward to your suggestions and advice.
Thanks

I would just take the TFI off. The wiring isn't as complicated as it looks. TFI basically just T's into the injector and o2 connections. There are 8 connections. 2 for the stock injector conections to plug into the TFI harness, 2 for the TFI harness to plug into the injectors, 2 for the stock o2 connectors to plug into the TFI harness, and 2 for the TFI harness to plug into the o2's. Then one ground wire. You have to prop the tank up a little but it literally only took about 20 minutes for me to install it. So it shouldn't take much more to remove it.
