Thumbs up stock electronic ignition vs SE ignition

SE ignition module 32719-01a: Are there any advantages to installing a SE electronic ignition on a mildly modified TC 88/carb. I've tried reading anything that I could find but no one really says what is exactly programmed into the SE ignition. I've heard that it retards the timing and then I thought that I read that it advances the timing. The rev limiter is set to 6200rpm but what does that have to do with anything if don't ever rev my engine up that far??? How will my engine benefit from the installation of an SE ignition? Plus I've heard about the part being revised a few times. Within a 2-3 year period, they had the 32719-01, 32719-01a and 32719-01b. That's 3 revisions in the short time that they made this part. So, what was changed in the revisions. Did they reprogram it with different settings for better engine performance or for EPA standards? Thanks.

Could someone please post a comparison chart for the SE 32719-01a ignition module vs stock for a 99-02 carb softail. If you have any of the finer details of the programming of the module, please let me know. Thank you.

Why isn't there an ignition map of this Screaming Eagle module available. I've read a few things that say this or that and then someone always contradicts that info. I would like to find out exactly what this ignition module is doing. Not hearsay or guessing. I want to know what this module is supplying beyond stock. Cold, Hard, Facts. Thanks.

Good luck! When I was researching one for my 2000 XLH I ran into the same questions. As far as I can tell there were a few different models that supplied different rates of advance and rev limits. I even saw one S.E. that was programmable. In the end I asked a guy at the service counter of my local dealer who has a 2000 XLH and he left me with the impression there were better places to spend my money if I was looking for performance improvements

The SE ignition is programable, it is only needed if you are having problems with pinging because you have raised compression.
