My buddy wants to convert his 03 FLST from carb to FI and can't turn a wrench so I'll be doing all the work. Has anyone ever done this or heard of this? I know the 88B cam is different for FI but aside from that I beleive the basic engine settup is the same. He'll also needs a new gas tank which he already bought off ebay. Any help or tips will be greatly appreciated.

 

The main wiring harness is the same so the conversion should be relitively easy. You'll need the EFI harness and it plugs in place of the carb harness. Then the rest is pretty much bolt on. All the mounts for the ECM will be there. You'll of course need all the sensors that the harness plugs into, head temp, IAC etc ... You might have to change the coil also. A check of a few part number will answer those questions.

 

Probably need a fuel pump too, won't you?

why would anyone want to do that convert in the first place. I have an04fatboy carb w ith stage one and it runs great no problems whatsover.
