DaVinci Code??
HI All:
Someone on another site recommended I ask this question here, seemlngly you guys are (his words) wizards with this sort of thing. Im just going to cut and paste my original post. Thanks for the help in advance.
Cheers
Dave
I'm hoping someone out there has answers for this, cuz my dealership
mechanics seem to be at a loss. A little background first. I re-
built my motor, and had to have a new map downloaded. I rode the
bike to the dealership to have the map loaded, a 20 min, $40.00 job
I was told. 6 hours and $800.00 cnd. later I rode away with a new
ECM, and I bike that is now running worse than when I took it in. It
won't idle at 900 rpm, my check engine light stays on, my oil light
doesn't come on at start up, and my turning signals don't self
cancel any more. On top of that they have told me there are three
historic codes that they cannot cancel, they delete them and they
show up again the next time they turn the bike on. They took the new
ECM out of a 2005 touring bike with about 300 miles on it (my bike
is a 2003 Road Glide), and they aren't sure if the historic codes
are from my bike, or the one it was robbed from. I certainly don't
want to start throwing more money at this problem looking for faults
that may not even be from my bike!! These three codes are:
Fault Code: P0122/ Description-Possible Cause: Throttle Position
Sensor Open/Low/ Source: ECM
Fault Code: U1016/ Description-Possible Cause: Loss of ECM Serial
Data/ Source: TSM
Fault Code: U1255/ Description-Possible Cause: Serial Data Error/
Source: TSM
Does anyone out there have any idea what these historic codes are,
what they mean, or how to remove these historic codes from my bike?
I really need to get this motor broken in before I leave on an
extended trip, but right now my hopes are fading with the news I'm
getting from my dealership. Any input or thoughts would be greatly
appreciated
Cheers, and happy Easter to all

RE: DaVinci Code??
Take the bike back to the stealership. I don't think they properly matched the ECM to your bike. I would insist that I "new" ECM by installed and programmed to correct the faults you are experiencing. If they refuse, I would call HD customer service and tell them exactly the problem you are having and what the dealer did. If possible, take the bike to another dealership with your service paperwork and have them check it over. I would try and defer the cost of doing this back to the dealer that installed the ECM.

Check this out. http://groups.msn.com/harleytechtalk...01633197542966
The 04 and 05 use different stage 1 calibration then 02 and 03
hope that helps

RE: DaVinci Code??
They should not have installed a 05 ECM on a 03 bike. I think I read that they are incompatable!
It will probably never work right . Why did they sell you a new one when all you wanted was yours recalibrated?
I will look for an answer and edit it into this post if I find it.
I may have that backwards. https://www.hdforums.com/m_155251/tm.htm
The dealer charged you $800 and needs to make it run right with no codes!
More info coming... https://www.hdforums.com/m_68509/tm.htm
