I'm looking for some advice on what (176) starting calibration to use with my build. Bike is a '07 Dyna pumped up to 103 w/ 10.75:1 Pistons, lightly ported heads, wood 777 cams, K&N 90deg intake, patriot defender 2:1 exhaust. Any help welcomed.

I would try EPQ176 and run cam tune estimator and IVO at idle.

EPQ is for a 1800 cc motor. much larger than my 103cu in. I'm leaning towards DPI176-04. Sound about Right?

The DPI with the 258 cam would be closer to the 777's IMO.

The 7 cubic inch isn't a concern. 10.75:1, ported heads, 777 cam, 2-1 exhaust usually needs a little headroom in the VE's tables anyway. I suggest the 110 CVO cal because that is what I have started countless 24D, 777, 555, and 577 tunes at over 10.5:1 compression. It isn't always what we can see in the calibration, and sometimes it is how the back ground is set up. The EPQ is a higher compression cal while the DPI is a mid compression cal.

The EPQ with a 110 and 255 cam for what that cal is made for is set up for a cranking compression of about 197. Rough calculation of your build is 196. Calculation of the DPI cal is for 183 cranking.

My thought process is to get a calibration that has closer timing tables because VE is going to need work no matter what, and with the tools most people have. VE is easier to set up over timing.

The DPI isn't a bad choice. Timing isn't too far away from each other comparing the two. It wont hurt to try both. Run IVO and vtune idle and compare. The exhaust is the wildcard because either cal isn't near what is on the bike.

Good luck

I did a Flight Recorder rides this past weekend. As I step thru VTune3 steps and I get to the step "Preview Spark Advance, Spark Temp Correction, Volumetric Efficiency and I do a pull down on Spark Advance and Spark Temp Correction, there nothing in those blocks.

Is this correct for my application, 2016 CVO Pro Street Breakout?

Attached is a "photo" of my VE screen, this is after a 125 mile ride and staying under 3500 RPM per Mr. Wizards PDF. Again, I hope I'm doing this right.

Thanks for any input.

You are doing fine, the only time you will see numbers in those two timing tables is if the ECM did a change during the V-Tune.

As Doc said but I would suggest shorter rides (15 to 20 minutes) with differentiating loads and gears. Slowly roll the throttle on and off while hesitating in between for a few seconds. Find a nice hill to lug up or take a passenger for extra weight. And... please remember tuning isn't about speed, it's about load and throttle position depending on how your calibration is set up for a 2016.
