TTS Mastertune Information

...I am considering a dyno tune or should I run the flight recorder and be happy with that until I do cams and head work? The cams and head work are not going to happen this riding season.
My big concern about the flight recorder is staying out of the throttle to get the low end tuned first.

When you have the cams and head work done, you'll need to check the IVO and VE's to begin with. Doing that now will give you practice but the numbers will probably be off after the mods.
As for the low end of the numbers, I changed my idle to about 800 rpms and worked on that end of the map...just don't spend too much time idling at that low of a number. It takes some discipline running street tuning but it will pay off later.
Good luck!

A quick question, before VT3 we would do vtuning and work on spark adjustment (if needed) after a final cal was produced.
I've started from scratch with a new MT9 and after my first short Vtune run I had minor corrections to the egr tables and corrections for 3 cells in the back jug in the spark assist table.
Is it advisable to accept both of these adjustments at this early stage or only accept the EGR recommendations, then continue until all VE adjustments are under 5% and then do a couple of vtune runs to see if there is any spark assist variations?
Thanks.

Nutz, thanks very much... I have read that, honestly a few times and 2 more since you sent me the link.
I am still confused, do I just plug in the interface to the computer and the FR does the Vtune set up for me? Or do I need to do vtune on my base map and then run FR?

luc. follow this bud.
the only thing different is Vtune3.

lonewolf176 has you covered there Luc.
make sure all software and VCI firmware are up to date first
cam tune data and set your IVO
setup your cal for vtuning
flash it
set the VCI to FR mode
plug it into the bike and go ride it
come back grab all the FR data off the VCI
extrapolate the changes, flash it back to the bike
set the VCI to FR mode again and go ride it
rinse and repeat until your VE tables are changing at less than 5%
once that's done then you can move onto other areas of the calibration such as timing, etc. if needed.

I can't find any info regarding the benefits for or against of accepting the EGR and Spark variances in the early stages of vtuning. The manual only says accept or reject.
As you say Nutz ( and it's my understanding also) do the ve's and then move on from there but have you heard if it's better to accept the changes as one goes along?
Thanks

Before you accept the egr and spark suggestions have a peek and see what your ve adjustments look like. If it wants to remove spark but it is adding fuel on the ve's I might not accept the changes. Same for egr, big changes in the ve's I would wait. Remember you can back up to accept or reject the suggested changes.
