if you're not having idle or throttle response issues, I'd leave it. There's a good reason they have you do this up front before you start tuning. You'll need to start over with your tunes when you change the IVO. :-)

I'd do a couple quick and dirt v-tunes. NO new engine should be subjected to a simple 'base map'. Get the VEs a little closer in the 2-3500 rpm ranges. I break in new engines with v-tune up and going... even for the heat cycles.

Default Starts then dies

I continue to have a problem with my 06 Ultra with 95 inch motor. I flashed the BNS141-03 map which was appropriate for a starting point. On cold start up, the bike starts then immediately dies. I start it again and it runs fine. After warm up it will start just fine.

Any thoughts on where to tweak this base map for the cold start/dies issue?

The bike is stock with AC and slip ons. Stock cams, etc. I know I need to install O2 sensors to use Vtune but haven't got to it yet.

Take a look at these 2 tables. Adjust in small percentages

Warmup Enrichment
Cranking Fuel

Funny you should say that, did exactly that yesterday after I posted my last reply. I'm using DPC176 cal. so did two 15-20 VTunes. Not sure if I should have the tuned map into closed or open loop. Open loop ATM.

‘07 Deluxe, SE 120R crank & rods, + 0.010" SE flat-top pistons, 87cc ported SE 110 heads, S&S easy start 625 cams, SE 58mm throttle body, SE 6.2 g/s injectors, Zippers Max-Flow air filter, V & H 2 into 1 Pro-Pipe Chrome,

While I have your undivided attention, I,m having difficulty with starting engine ATM, turns over but won't start unless I give it a touch of throttle. Would I be correct in assuming the IAC needs adjustment? Haven't checked the manual as yet. - Rob

Thanks for the help. I ended up adjusting Warmup Enrichment, IAC Warm UP Steps and IAC Crank to Run. I did not adjust Cranking Fuel. The bike now cold starts and stays running. I haven't ridden it yet to see if anything feels different on the street but hopefully this fixed the problem.

Hey every one I'm looking for some help collecting data with v tune. I'm having trouble getting data from 15% throttle position and on. Is anyone here experienced with this procedure? I keep getting too high of a map reading. How do you getting good data in all ranges and higher rpms?

Mods: 106" 2012 dyna , s&s mr103 cams, hillside stage 4 heads, 55mm t/b, 5.3 g/s fuel injectors, zippers max flow air cleaner, rb racing 2to1 exhaust.
