Turk, thanks for the insight. Yesterday I went out and did some timing runs. I found that for my bike the change in the way the bike ran was about -4.5 degrees of timing. I bumped it up to -3.5 and did a couple of vtune runs at .981, re did the ve tables and and was sorely disappointed. More pinging than than ever. I think the reduction I the ve tables are the culprit, I am going back to to my previous map and see if I can zero in better. Like you said trail and error and experience, lol.

Wmitz... don't do timing runs with a VTune calibration. That's too lean. Flash a MT8 calibration and do your timing runs.

Wiz, thanks will do, as soon as the weather cooperates. Just to make sure, I leave the adaptive timing tables zeroed out for a timing run correct?

Correct. You don't want the AKR to interfere with a long run.

When VTune 3 comes out the software will let you do this with one mouse click after selecting a few boxes.

Make adjustments to:
Volumetric Efficiencies
Timing
EGR
Cubic inches

All you will need to do is set up the VTune file, flash it to your bike. Set up Flight Recorder for VTune and ride. Down load the data from the VCI and run VTune 3. Reflash and ride again.

That's the goal. TTS is working on the software right now. Please don't ask, I have no time line as to when it will be ready.

Wiz,

Blue boxes only but...

A blue box will record data from any other bike. Just use the black box to flash if that is what you use.

I hear TTS may have an exchange program for that but don't know when it will be offered or for how much. They are spending all of their time on VTune 3 right now.

Just one Question for the Gurus
can you use a MT8 Lambda map in a 2009 FLHRC or do you need to stay with the AFR based map.
