Dealer broke my bike((UPDATE))
I had my dealer who is 70 miles from me put on chrome controls and new bars. I had a friend pick my bike up because I couldn't get there to pick it up before they closed. I loaded it up yesterday and realized I didn't have any headlight or spot lights. I went ahead and pulled it home thinking it wouldn't be to tough to fix. What could cause my lights not to work? All the other lights work fine.

RE: Dealer broke my bike
I've seen a lot of posts on several boards where people have problems after installing chrome controls. Many times it turns out that when installing the new controls, a wire gets pinched between the switch housings and the bars. Tf that is the case, you probably will have a blown fuse. Check for blown fuse and replace it if necessary. If it immediately blows again, remove the switch housings and look for the pinched wire. I did my chrome controls myself and managed to pinch the wire to the starter button. I had to repair the damaged wire and all was well.

RE: Dealer broke my bike
I checked the housings and didn't see any pinched wires. All the controls work. When I go from low to high beam the blue light indicator comes on just no lights. I used a test light and I'm getting juice to the headlight terminal block on high and low beam so I think I have a ground issue. My fuses are all fine. None of my buttons on the console light up. Spot-cruise etc. All other lights fuction fine. Any suggestions on finding my ground problem? I really don't want trailor my bike 70 miles to the dealer and it be something simple. The dealer did put a new brighter bulb in my headlight, can there be a problem there? I can't really trace the harness to far because of factory shielding etc. I'm assuming the black wire is ground on the headlight termial. The white and yellow set off the test light between high and low beam. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Brett

Definitely have the dealer fix it. If you try and screw something up, the dealer could claim that you caused your own problem. Call them, explain what the problem is and give them a chance to make it right. If they refuse or give you a hard time, then we go on to step 32.
