Thumbs up Spark Plug Questionfor 07 streetglide

Anyone have a preference to plugs other than HD stuff?? I have an 07 street glide and was told that autolite plugs work just as well and are cheaper... Is there a high performance plug out there that would run better..

Thanks,

rh

My concern with departing from stock plugs is whether the replacements would be knock sensor qualified. I've seen no literature supporting the Autolites in this regard, for example.

I would love to have a list of knock sensor qualified plugs. Hopefully someone here can help...

I am using Autolite and they seem to work with the Ion sensing just fine. I thing the key is to make sure they are gapped correctly. From what I have seen the Delphi system is set up to work with a .040 thou. gap. I went a plug colder and on data logging sessions, can see the system removing timing, and I hear no ping. This is just my own observations, and experience.

Default How much will you save ?

No offense...but how much are you gonna save ?? Pennies ??

HD plugs are not that expensive and they are matched to the EFI. Tried and true.

I installed the Autolite 4163 which is one plug colder than what is called for 4164. DSanchez is correct you are not going to save money by doing this, I did this because HD to my knowledge does not make a colder plug, and I wanted to try and eliminate some detonation. My bike runs better with these plugs. I looked at the Delphi web site and they explain how their ION sensing technology works, and I didn't see where they say that you must use one brand over another. So I am experimenting and so far I like what I have done.

I'm also using Autolite 4163, which is the colder version of two Autolites that fit the TC. The other is the 4164, which is the stock heat range. It does work with the ion-discharge knock-sensor.
