I assume you can pop the plastic case off the ecm connector to get access to the pins for connecting a probe. I was wondering if you can get a breakout box for it. I was thinking something that plugs into the ecm, exposes the pins and the connector plugs into it. So one would be does anyone know of one? Another would be does anyone know what it's called? I assume it's a standard connector of some type, but what standard?

 

Actually, it isn't so much a full breakout box that I'm interested in as something that would give easy access to the pins.

 

I have the source for the breakout board at home. I can post it tonight.

The connectors are available but but I could only find the side that is like the ECU end as a header for mounting in a PCB. The other 1/2 is available as a plug that you mount to the end of 35+/- wires.

www.kent-moore.spx.com makes the break out box for Harley part #HD-43876 but Harley is real proud of it.

 

I think I read the break out box referred to in the diagnostic manual is part of a kit costing like $3k that HD will only sell to dealers.
