Yeah, it might have been worth mentioning the narrow band o2 sensors can only accurately measure in the 14.2 to 15.0 afr range. Overall I would say fueling is the safest thing to play with. Any changes you make you want to do in moderation.

I would say the starting point is really understanding the operation of the bike. Like cruising at a steady speed in differant gears at differant speeds. Most every thing is done in terms of map pressure, rpm and tps. So you want to get a feel for what those values are under various conditions. Although a better starting point might be startup and idling. That lets you set in your driveway, dink around with the laptop and get use to the software.

To answer the question of why you'd want to set the AFR tables to a constant when street tuning (logging with widebands)... it makes it much easier to see how you're doing on your tune when graphing the logged AFRs. The logged AFRs should be a flat line in that case. It will never be perfectly flat of course, but the closer you get it to flat and on the constant, the better your tune is.
