Default Blowing Fuses

Hey I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or similar problems. My 2007 FXST keeps blowing fuses when I switch on the high beam. When I hit the switch the fuse blows and then headlight doesn't work at all. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum... Have you changed the bulb lately by any chance?

Assuming they have no reason to change the colors on the wires across years/models the white wire is the high beam and yellow is low. Orange/white is the power and black is the ground. The switch is flipping the power from the orange/white wire between the yellow and white wire. The white wire is somewhere shorted to the ground, likely via the frame. Easiest would be pull the main fuse and use an ohm meter to check resistance between ground and the white wire at the connectors to find what section the short is in.

What was changed or repaired around the time that you noticed that it was popping fuses????

Best thing to td is go backwards in the repair/upgrade chain to identfy a missed step or error in assembly...

sounds like handlebar switch housings pinching a wire. changed out your switch housings or worked on anything up there lately?

Change the bulb if you don't find anything else obvious. Rare but internal problems have happened with bulbs causing a short.
