Dont get it wet. It is an electrical component subject to failure, especially when wet... Use the plug to keep the usb connector from being able to draw in water and dry it out as soon as possible after it gets wet.

Think I'm going to try to rig up a cover for it.&nbsp\\; No way a 9 day Sturgis ride will be dry.

Not apples to your oranges, my 07 touring-family bike carries the PC-III under the side cover. I do not even have the port plugs installed, for ~14,000 miles and am not just a fair-weather rider, but never spray-wash. Nary a problem from weather/moisture.

I was inspecting the unit one evening, tracing wires to see which signals to/from the ECU were intercepted. The unit itself is an epoxy/gel-filled container with all the electronics encased. The USB and hub ports may indeed be susceptible to moisture entry, I will grant that. The port plugs seem as though they should be adequately effective for their task.

My ultra has had on my 06 for 40,000 miles.&nbsp\\; Drove back from Daytona in heavy rain for 3 hours no problem.&nbsp\\; They need to be covered and kept as dry as possible.&nbsp\\; So far so good for me.

I was wondering about the unit itself, good to know it's sealed.&nbsp\\; The harness is at the top the way it's mounted, and I was wondering about that.
