I bit the bullet and bought the new super SERT and its being dyno'ed this weekend..

however, i KNOW that i'll want to get in there and sniff around, but the only laptop i have is for the Haltech ECU in my RX-7 and its OLD, purposely old because i have to program the Haltech through a serial port in a DOS prompt.... so that means running a windows 98 machine!&nbsp\\; It does the job...

Question is... its that dinosaur going to be able to run the SESRT software, or am i going to need to go get something a little newer with XP on it?

forget about telling me to update the old one...I'm quite sure it won't handle a newer operating syustem!!!!

 

First, will the tuner actually give you a copy of the map he loads? If not, no need for laptop - cause you can't pull out what's loaded (only load over what's there).&nbsp\\;Second, really doubt the Super Tuner supports Win98.&nbsp\\;Good luck though.

HOWEVER.. the closed loop settings to make it run richer than 14.6 at cruise... that i am interestedin!

 

It sure would not hurt to try to install/run the software. If the documentation only says it works on XP/Vista, that may merely mean they did not even try on W98, not that they tried and failed. Microsoft itself no longer supports it, right?

 

yeah....98 is fossilized...XP is next.. don't remember when but very soon if not already&nbsp\\;

 

The old SERT will run on WIndows 2000. But I would get an XP machine at least.
