NO SPARK!!!!
Good afternoon everyone, Me and a friend just finished installing a big bore kit and cam upgrade into his 2004 softail standard. Yesterday he took it out for his first time and it ran awesome. He ran for approx. 32 miles then made a stop with it. Let it cool down for about 3 hrs and took it out again. The bike started with no trouble seemed to warm up a bit and then stalled. The bike then tried to start a bit but then died altogether. We got it home and realized the bike was getting no spark. Here are some things we looked at. We put in a new set of plugs- no help. We unplugged his brand new Twin tec ignition and plugged in the stock module- no help. Checked all fuses. The motorcycle is a standard carburated softail. When we put the ignition on, there are no check engine lights to be seen so I assume there would be no codes to troubleshoot. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated!!!!

RE: NO SPARK!!!!
Sounds as if you have a main feed to the switch interupted in some manner, either broken internally in the wire of disconnected somewhere in the circuit (bad connection). Start at the ignition switch with a test light and work backwards towards the battery through the fuses/breakers and see where you loose the light. It will tell you where the interuption is.

RE: NO SPARK!!!!
Thanks TCSTD found the culprit, the guy put on a new set of handlebars that had the internal wiring and so the plug had to be cut off and resoldered. Wires got bent and broke gray wire for the run stop switch. It was just touching enough to send 12V to the starter but not enough to send 12V to ignition module!![sm=icon_rock.gif]

Depending on where the interuption is in the circuit, If it is after the switch, it's possible, but before the switch would show up differently.
