Default PCIII O2 elims

What would be the danger in leaving the O2 sensors hooked up after PCIII installation instead of putting in the O2 eliminators? 08 Rocker C

The o2s will work to the best of there power move the AFR right back to 14.7 untill the AFVs max out.&nbsp\\;The PCiii unit has logic that assumes that this is not happening.

The eliminators are a fixed value going back to the AFR system so if you leave the o2 sensors connected it screws with the PCIII values.

I removed my O2 and there were no problems.

Ah, that answers a big question I had about power commander.

I assume you meant you removed your O2 eliminators?

If so, there is a problem. This is most definitely something I have first-hand knowledge experimenting with.

Without doing some very fancy PC-III programming, you want the O2 eliminators in service (once you reset your AFVs).

In terms of fueling, the only logic the PC-III has is to either decrease or increase [table-based] the injector pulse time it intercepts on the way out of the ECU. O2 sensors active allows the ECU to auto-tune back to stoich (best it can).

This will really muck with ECU open-loop.

Umm, isn't that what I said?
&nbsp\\;
So one guy says that leaving them in will mess up what the PCIII is trying to do, and another says that they are helpful. I'm confused [sm=WTFsgign.gif]

&nbsp\\;Personally I agree with the others that say that not using the o2 eliminators will result in the engine not running as well as it should. With out the eliminators you will start seeing error codes show up. I doubt that they were included as a user optional part of the package but just to be sure, why not call Zippers and ask them?

Not Zippers, and no need to call.
