Magnety Morelly fuel injection Questions
I have a 1999 Ultra Classic Twin Cam with Magnety Morelly fuel injection. Just got back from a trip to the mountains in Colorado. It ran great and got great fuel mileage, but it wouldn't idle worth a darn up there. Now I'm back in the midlands and it idles better but not great. Sometimes it will \\;idle right sometimes it doesn't. \\;I'm looking for someone who knows about this older fuel injection and can tell me some adjustments that will help. Does anyone know anything about this older fuel injection?Thanks

The first thing you should do is clean the throttle body with some brake cleaner. \\; Be sure to clean the air bleed holes at the top of each throat, they control idle air.

I have the M/M system and I live at 300 ft. \\; During my trip to Colorado I some idle issues which included lower idle and lower cold idle at start up. \\; Below 5000 ft it works fine. \\;

RE: Magnety Morelly fuel injection Questions
If the check engine light is NOT on....then you don't have a sensor out. Don't replace anything just yet!
 \\;
Just make sure the throttle body is clean....
And follow the directions reguarding the cold/hot idle adjustment....(directions are located on the forum)
 \\;
Usually, the last two are all that are needed.

RE: Magnety Morelly fuel injection Questions
 \\; The next time you pull the air cleaner, look at the plate on the side that moves with the throttle. See if it moves smoothly with no slop in it. If it moves rough or has lateral play in it, you need to replace the miniature bearing in the plate. Mine had play and I replaced it with one from Motion Industries. The cost is cheap and it helps with the idle changing issue. I couldn't get mine to retain idle settings for more than a week until I replaced this bearing. Now the throttle is smooth, and my idle retains the setting.
