TMAX decel popping

RE: TMAX decel popping

2007fltr,
My decel pops were (IMHO) caused by map 393. I switched to one of the 400-series maps (403 to be exact) and have had no issues since. I don't have a lot of faith in the 390-series and have heard more than once "decel pop" complaint about those maps. Rbabos can give you a better technical explanation but I reccomend finding a 400-series map that is close to your configuration and reloading.

PS: I am not using the decel cut feature and I do not get pops anymore, bike runs friggin' great!

Did you end up richening the 0-14% TPS ranges with map 403, or did you leave it as is? Just curious, as I am using 403, but I richened it up a bit right away in those positions, as that is what I had to do with 393 to get rid of the pops. But I'm wondering if I really needed to do that based on what I'm hearing from you and others using 403.
Thanks!

rok,
The weather and being on call at work have conspired against me so far this week. \\; I haven't had a chance to reload the edited maps and get a test ride in yet. \\; At this point I'm just richening the 0-14 range of the 392 maps to see if that works for me. \\; Other than the popping, I have no issues with the map. \\; Now that the rain's finally stopped and my on call rotation ended at 8:00 AM today, I should be able to get the reload done and ridden tonight. \\; I'll let you know how it turns out.

RE: TMAX decel popping
OK, I finally got to test ride the edited maps. \\; If I'm running 3000 or higher rpms and back off the throttle, I'm still getting a backfire around 2800 and again at 2600. \\; Iv'e dropped the 0-14 range even further and smoothed out the transition area beyond 14 to see if that helps any. \\; Is there anything else I should be looking at??
BTW, I looked at both map 403 and 412 (the only 400 series with FL head pipes) and both of these have significant timing differences from the 393 that I'm currently using, so I'm kinda leery of using one of these.
