High idle when I stop

High idle when I stop
I have a 1976 FXE, when I drive it after it's warm the idle is high when I come to a stop then it drops down to normal. I have pulled the carb and checked the O-rings, all looks good. Tried spraying starter fluid on it to see if idle picks up but it doesn't, so intake leak is out. I just bought 2 new springs for the advance and I hope this takes care of it. Anyone have any other sugestions?

The carb is 2 years old, S&S super "E", linkage should be good, O-rings were not replaced because they were also in good shape. I didn't have time last night to change the springs but when I do I will repost.

RE: High idle when I stop
Sorry it's been so long to get back on here but I did manage to fix my problem. I can't say for sure what did it but I changed both the timing advance springs and all 4 of the O-rings on the intake and carb. plate and now it runs better than it ever did. Thanks Doc for all you help.[/align]
